Vibracoring is a method of collecting continuous core samples in unconsolidated sediments. This technology is ideal for collecting sediment data used to inform planning and execution of dredging projects from navigation improvements to sand source evaluation for beach nourishment projects. Athena has been at the forefront of vibracore sampling since our founding in 1987 and has expanded our capabilities and operating range to meet the increasing demands for relaible, accurate sediment data.
Athena has company owned vessels designed with multiple vibracore systems in mind. From a heavy-duty, pneumatic vibracore system for offshore geotechnical sampling to smaller portable rigs ideal for inshore and environmental projects, Athena can match the equipment to the project requirements to ensure a successful sediment data collection project.
